DESCRIPTION 

This documentary series "The Pain of Water" PAANI DEE HOOK (ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਹੂਕ)  is about depleting and contaminated waters of Punjab. Punjab has been dubbed as the cancer state of India. Mindless extraction of groundwater and  Excessive and unregulated use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers since the Green Revolution is the root cause of all the problems. 

As people are using more water than what is replenished every year, toxic metals from the ground are drawn toward water bodies used for drinking. The people of Punjab are drinking toxic cocktail every day. 

The documentary focuses on the unseen reality of Punjab's contaminated water and its harmful implications on the environment. Several experts from multidisciplinary genres were consulted and interviewed for this documentary series.
